Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in León in recent years. More and more players are filling the courts in the city and surrounding areas, and tournaments have become essential events not only for local players but also for visitors who want to enjoy a sports experience during their stay.
Below, you’ll find the main padel tournaments and activities in León, and how they’ve become part of the city’s cultural and social life.

Padel Tournament during the San Juan and San Pedro Festivities
Every June, during León’s main city festivities, padel becomes part of the official programme with a very special tournament. Organised by Pádel Park León and the Padel Federation of Castilla y León, this competition brings together players of all levels in men’s, women’s and mixed categories.
In 2025, registrations were open from 9 to 15 June, in a unique festive atmosphere. As a highlight, a Padel Master was also held right in Plaza de San Marcos, turning one of the most iconic squares in the city into a spectacular court that attracted both locals and tourists.
Charity Tournament “Play for Mental Health”
Sport can also be a tool to help others — and in León, that’s taken seriously. For the past ten years, the charity tournament “Play for Mental Health” has been held at Central Pádel León, organised by the Mental Health Association of León.
With nearly 400 players and more than 1,000 attendees, it is considered the biggest charity padel tournament in Castilla y León. Funds raised go to social projects such as improving the occupational centre La Senda, proving that padel in León is about more than sport: it’s about community, solidarity and commitment.
La Virgen del Camino: a popular, family-friendly tournament
Just outside León, in La Virgen del Camino, an annual tournament is held that mixes sport with neighbourhood life. In 2025, its 4th edition took place over the weekends of 21 to 29 June, with adult and children’s categories at very affordable prices.
This event has helped bring padel closer to families, reinforcing the idea that it’s a sport for all ages and all levels.
León on the national and international scene
Beyond local competitions, León is also on the official calendar of the International Padel Federation (FIP). In October 2025, the city will host the FIP Promises León, an international youth tournament bringing together young talents from around the world.
Events like this strengthen León’s position as an active sports city, capable of attracting sports tourism and putting itself on the international padel map.
Padel and tourism: the perfect combination
The growth of padel makes León an ideal destination for lovers of the sport. Taking part in a tournament —or simply booking a court at clubs like Pádel Park León or Central Pádel— is now part of the travel plan for many visitors.
And after playing, nothing beats exploring the historic centre, enjoying Leonese gastronomy and relaxing in comfortable, central accommodation.
